Full Time, Days
Services shall be performed as follows- MTR in Office and Friday in Surgery.
You Will Be Responsible For:
Develop, coordinate, and maintain the All in One ("AIO") patient registry for the GRI;
Evaluate the process and oversight of determinations of eligibility for potential surgical patients, including but not limited to, the process for reviewing eligibility criteria, process for determining appropriate pre-operative workups, and process for evaluating surgical appropriateness;
Advise the GRI team in matters related to determining surgical case order for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective patient throughput and patient experience
Represent the GRI at international and national robotics meetings, including travel as necessary, and to assist with GRI's physician relationship efforts;
Periodically assists with English to Spanish translations as needed for patient educational and videos for the Global Robotics Institute Prostate Cancer Program.
Periodically participates in Spanish/English voice over for video recordings and narrations as needed for the Global Robotics Institute Prostate Cancer Program.
Periodically assist the Medical Director in content development, logistics, and delivering lectures on varying medical topics relating to robotic prostatectomy cases
What You Will Need:
Current certification through the American Board of Surgical Assistants
Current Advent Health first surgical assist credentials
Completion of a training for surgical first assisting
Graduate of Advent Health recognized Surgical first assisting program
Experience in clinical setting to area of specialty
Experience in robotic surgery
Medical background in Urology
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, administrators, physicians and staff.
Ability to work as a member of a team of highly-motivated and experienced individuals.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Knowledge of instruments, supplies, and utilized for surgical procedures.
Understanding of the procedures being performed and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
Knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and ability to be constantly vigil for maintaining a sterile field.
Experience as an M.D. or D.O. in Urology
Medical background in Urology
Provides guidance to all international and domestic patients living outside the Central Florida area regarding the guidelines and requirements of prostatectomy surgery. Communicates in multiple languages and provides appropriate instructions as determined by the Global Robotics Medical Director. Will serve as Surgical First Assistant providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical function that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal result for the patient. These functions are performed during the operation under the direct and supervision of the surgeon in accordance within the hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations. Collaborates as part of the OR team to ensure efficient and timely room set up turnover. Adheres to the Advent Health Hospital Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accredited bodies.
