Position Summary: The primary role of this individual is to perform functions related to compliance and operations of Duke University Health System's (DUHS) 340B drug pricing program. Additional roles include performing internal program audits, information technology coordination, vendor account setup and maintenance, and pharmacy team member training. This position will primarily be a day shift position.
Specific duties include (but are not limited to):
340B Program Operations, Auditing, Compliance- Contract Pharmacy (70%)
Serve as point person and subject matter expert for all 340B operational and compliance activities supporting contract pharmacy operations including:
Qualifying all 340B eligible prescriptions
Managing 340B data extracts, data transmission and accumulator accuracy
Coordinating replenishment of 340B purchased inventory and invoice reconciliation
Support all regularly-schedule internal audits
Collaborate with contract pharmacy stakeholders to troubleshoot 340B inquiries requiring accumulator, electronic health record, and/or financial system review.
Maintain all documentation for 340B eligible prescriptions transmitted through non-standard methods; ensure adequate organization of records and ability to retrieve records.
Serve as a project leader for implementation of new contract pharmacy arrangements.
Perform analysis of dispensing, qualification and charge data to optimize 340B qualification.
Participate in annual external audits; lead data retrieval and analysis functions.
Use provided tools to monitor prescription data, patient data, hospital data, payer data, and site of care; summarize and report results to appropriate individuals.
Monitor ordering processes and invoice reconciliation of wholesalers and other suppliers.
340B Program Operations, Auditing, Compliance- DUH/DRH (20%)
Optimize mixed use and retail pharmacy Verity v340B software by reporting to the Director: Pharmacy Business and Revenue Management. Verity v340B activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Mapping unknown and custom NDCs
Reviewing multipliers
Performing WAC split analyses
Monitoring for appropriate transfer of files from DUHS to Verity software
Support auditing activities as needed.
Develop a thorough understanding of the Verity system and the functions to be performed. Educate others involved in the purchasing process to ensure proper operation and compliance.
Develop a thorough understanding of the DUHS 340B drug pricing program. Strive to consistently improve the overall efficiency, value, and integrity of the DUHS 340B drug pricing program.
Develop and foster working relationships with other internal working counterparts at DUHS (IT, finance, compliance, and others) to facilitate productive exchanges of information to improve program efficiency and promote program compliance. Provide data, information, and reports as needed for other business units within DUHS.

Required Qualifications at this Level
Education
Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program with one year of experience in program administration or event production.

Two years of postsecondary education with three years of experience in program administration or event production.
OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Experience
Experience with the 340B drug pricing program, pharmaceutical procurement, and inventory management is strongly preferred.
Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
Strong skills and prior experience with computer technology and programs including Excel preferred.
