DescriptionSummary:5South is a 40-bed comprehensive unit specializing in post-operative care of patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal and urologic problems. The unit serves as a Center of Excellence for the care of bariatric surgery patients. The unit also cares for the medical monitored patients as well as traumatic injuries transferred from the ICU and Emergency Department. A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
