Patient population: Adult postoperative urologic care patients as well as patients requiring ER or inpatient consult for urology care
Team includes 25 physicians and 20 APPs.
Procedures include: difficult catheter placements, drain removal, possible cystoscopy
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the care of minor and major urologic surgical patients as they recover from surgery and move towards discharge
Participate in admission of primary urology patients as well as consultations from the ER and from other inpatient services
Assume care for all type of acute care needs occurring during the weekday shift, and coordinate care as staffing transitions to the on-call team during the evening
Understanding and adherence to established guidelines and surveillance protocols is a must
Provide counseling regarding management of chronic urologic conditions, discuss surgical options, manage postoperative patients
Maintain timely documentation, be actively involved with practice initiatives, and pursue specialty-specific learning opportunities
Qualifications:
ACNP, AGNP, CNS, FNP, or PA board eligible or certified
APP experience is required
Prior urology or inpatient medicine experience is preferred
