Augusta University Department of Urology at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates should be board-certified or eligible in urology. The ideal candidate will have extensive surgical training in general urology. This position is not considered to be on tenure track.
Augusta University is a thriving academic medical center that in the past decade has logged a 48 percent increase in student applications, a 25 percent increase in student enrollment and a 146 percent increase in sponsored research. The university’s Medical College of Georgia, the 13th-oldest medical school in the country, was founded in 1828.
AU main campus is in Augusta, Georgia’s second-largest city. The city was recently ranked the second most favorable place to live in the state. Augusta is within an easy three-hour drive of Atlanta, the University of Georgia, the ocean and the mountains. It is a growing and thriving city with a metropolitan-area population of around 400,000 and an annual mean temperature of 64 degrees.
Duties involve attending to patients, teaching residents and medical students and share in leading the Department of Urology. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to engage in service activities and have the opportunity to engage in clinical and basic science research if desired. Leadership roles exist within the New Department of Urology for candidates with appropriate experience and interest.

The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation’s largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class.
